Budget Signs Partnership With Northwest Airlines
LISLE, Ill., June 8 -- Budget Rent a Car Corporation, the
world's third largest car and truck rental company, announces a new
partnership with Northwest Airlines, effective June 1, 1998.
Northwest Airlines, the world's fourth largest airline, serves more than
400 cities in over 80 countries on six continents. Budget's participation in
the Northwest WorldPerks frequent flyer program will offer members the chance
to earn 250 miles for each Budget rental of one day and 500 miles for each
Budget rental of two consecutive days or longer. WorldPerks members must rent
within 24 hours of a Northwest, KLM or WorldPerks Partner airline flight, and
must present their WorldPerks membership card and boarding pass/ticket at the
time of rental.
"We feel that the partnership between Northwest and Budget is a good fit
because they have a strong U.S. system, presence in Asia and alliances with
other airlines, providing service to and from the U.S. and cities around the
world," stated Mark Sotir, senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing and
Reservation Operations of Budget Rent a Car Corporation.
In addition to Northwest Airlines WorldPerks, Budget is a partner in
select domestic and international airline frequent flyer programs including
Aeromexico Club Premier, Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France Frequence Plus, Air
New Zealand Air Points, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plus, Alitalia Mille Miglia,
British Midland Diamond Club, El Al Israel Airlines Frequent Traveler Clubs,
Lufthansa Miles & More, Reno Air QQuick Miles, Southwest Airlines Rapid
Rewards, Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus, United Airlines Mileage Plus and

of their choice.
