SUNNYVALE, Calif.--July 30, 1998--Route guidance coverage for vehicle navigation systems has arrived for drivers in Oklahoma City, Okla., in the latest release of the NavTech(R) Database.
Navigation Technologies Corporation (NavTech), the premier supplier of superior quality, continuously updated route guidance map databases for North America and Europe, announced that it has completed detailed map coverage of Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City metropolitan area coverage comprises 1600 square miles (.93 million people), including all or parts of Canadian, Cleveland, McClain and Oklahoma counties.
The NavTech Database is an extensive and precise digital representation of the road network that provides the depth, accuracy and coverage needed to enable turn-by-turn, door-to-door route guidance. Every in-vehicle navigation system in North America and the majority of systems in Europe that offer turn-by-turn route guidance use a NavTech Database.
Among some of the Oklahoma City landmarks listed as Points of Interest in the NavTech coverage are the Southwestern Bell Bricktown Ballpark, the University of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma State Capitol, the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Myriad Gardens Botanical Center, Remington Park Race Track, Frontier City Theme Park, the Red Earth Indian Center, and the A.P.
