USAA Assisting North Carolina, Virginia Policyholders


    SAN ANTONIO--Aug. 31, 1998--USAA has approximately 400 insurance adjusters and support personnel from throughout the country entering areas hard hit by Hurricane Bonnie.
    USAA has established emergency offices in Wilmington and Jacksonville, N.C., and is working out of its Mid-Atlantic regional office in Norfolk, Va. Teams of insurance adjusters, claims experts and support personnel from its home office in San Antonio and its six regional offices are deploying from those offices to assist policyholders in the eastern North Carolina and Virginia areas.
    USAA has approximately 132,000 insureds in that area. While preliminary reports have indicated damage to USAA-insured property has been light, no dollar estimates of claims are available yet as a result of winds and rain from Hurricane Bonnie.
