Million-and-a-Half-Mile Volvo Drives into Tennessee for Annual Volvo Owners MeetROCKLEIGH, N.J., Sept. 1 -- What does a car look like after being driven over 1.6 million miles? You can come and see for yourself! The million mile car, a 1966 Volvo P1800, will be in Knoxville, Tennessee for the annual Volvo Club of America (VCOA) meet September 4, 5, and 6 at the Hyatt Regency - Knoxville. Irv Gordon's million mile car will be joined by hundreds of other vintage cars, as well the stylish new C70 coupe and convertible and the All Wheel Drive Cross Country Sportswagon. The meet also offers a sneak preview of the sophisticated 1999 S80, which will not be on display in retailer showrooms until late September. Volvo Trucks will also show their products. In connection with the meet, autocrossing will take place on Sunday, September 6 at the nearby Volvo retailer, Clayton Motors, located at 4600 Clinton Highway in Knoxville. Other related activities taking place throughout the weekend include a swap meet, door prizes, a silent auction, a barbecue and various receptions and banquets. Admission is charged and reservations are required for some events. Vendor spaces are also available.
