BCAM International's Intelligent Passenger-car Seat

8 September 1998

BCAM International, Inc. announces extension of the world's first "intelligent" passenger-car seat to a second automobile model
Cadillac to add feature to the 1999 Cadillac SLS in addition to the STS

MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 8 -- BCAM International, Inc.
announced today that its
proprietary and patented Intelligent Surface Technology (IST) is being
incorporated into the driver and passenger seats of the new 1999 Cadillac
Seville SLS model by the Cadillac division of General Motors Corporation.
BCAM's IST technology is already incorporated into the Cadillac Seville STS
model.
In 1993, Textron signed an exclusive agreement with BCAM to
license its Intelligent Surface Technology for transportation seating, office
chairs, hospital beds and wheelchairs. Under the agreement, BCAM will receive
a royalty payment, subject to the earnout of an annual credit due to Textron
Automotive, each time its technology is incorporated into products. Textron
Automotive, a division of Textron Inc., is the leading supplier of automotive
interior and functional components and systems.
For BCAM, this represents significant recognition for the company's years
of research into the phenomenon of how to make better "ergonomically designed"
products that are in total physical harmony with their users and that provide
them with the ultimate in comfort and fit. Revenues from the royalty
relationship with Textron Automotive were $2,000 for the six months ended
June 30, 1998 and are expected by management to exceed $40,000 for the full
year 1998.
"We are proud to have partnered with Textron Automotive and Cadillac in
order to create the world's first intelligent passenger-car seat that is a
revolutionary departure from what passengers have come to accept as comfort in
automobiles," said Michael Strauss, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
BCAM International, Inc. "We are delighted with Textron Automotive and
Cadillac's decision to incorporate this technology into an additional model
for the 1999 model year, and expect that further introductions of our
technology into products other than automotive will accelerate in 1999 and
beyond. We are extremely excited about the potential for IST to expand in
many products especially in the automotive market, which represents a
substantial opportunity for BCAM."
BCAM International, Inc. is a medical footwear and technology company.
