Prudential Reduces Rates for Tennessee Drivers

HOLMDEL, N.J.--Sept. 11, 1998--Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company (PRUPAC) is reducing Auto insurance rates in Tennessee by an average of 5.8 percent statewide. Some Tennessee drivers will enjoy reductions of as much as 25 percent.
"We're delighted to lower prices for our Auto policyholders in Tennessee for the second time in 18 months," said Tom Crawford, PRUPAC President. "Not only are we offering lower prices, but our customers will find we've made terrific improvements to our customer service. State of the art technology enhances our claims handling process and makes it easier for our customers to do business with us -- and that's our primary goal."
The price reduction takes effect on September 11 for new Auto policies, Crawford notes. Customers with existing policies will start seeing their savings as their policies renew on or after October 14.
In addition, a variety of discounts may help to lower Prudential premiums even further for Tennessee drivers. For example, the company just introduced a Companion for Life Discount in the state which can lower premiums by 5 percent in certain cases for customers who have both Auto and Life policies with Prudential. Prudential also offers Companion Policy Discounts of up to 15 percent for customers who have Auto, Life and Home policies with the company.
Other premium-saving discounts are available for driver training, safety devices, anti-theft devices, defensive driving, good student, and short mileage. In addition, Prudential offers a deluxe package discount of 10 percent for policyholders who insure at least two vehicles on the policy and meet certain qualifications.
In addition to Auto, Prudential and its affiliates offer Homeowners, Condominium, Renters, Dwelling Fire, Personal Liability and Boat insurance to Tennessee residents.
Prudential provides coverage for over 10,000 autos and homes and sells personal lines products and life insurance and annuities through over 50 agents in the state.
Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company is a subsidiary of The Prudential Insurance Company of America, based in Newark, NJ. Prudential is one of the largest life insurance companies in North America.
