Action Performance Names Founder of MiniChamps to Board of Directors


    PHOENIX--Sept. 29, 1998--Action Performance Companies Inc.(TM), Tuesday announced that it has named Paul G. Lang to its board of directors.
    Lang is the founder and currently a minority shareholder of MiniChamps(TM), a group of German die-cast collectibles companies in which Action Performance acquired a majority interest on Aug. 28, 1998.
    Through MiniChamps, Lang has successfully marketed die-cast scaled replicas of motor vehicles, including models of Formula 1 and GT race cars, under license agreements with some of the world's most popular race car drivers, team owners, and car manufacturers. The MiniChamps brand is regarded by many collectors as among the highest quality die-cast in the world.
    Action Performance Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Fred W. Wagenhals said, "We are pleased to announce the newest addition to Action's board of directors.
