Global Motorsport Group, Inc. Reports Record Sales Orders at Custom Chrome's Twelfth Annual Dealer Trade Show
MORGAN HILL, Calif.--Oct. 6, 1998--Global Motorsport Group, Inc. (Global) the leading independent supplier of aftermarket parts and accessories for Harley Davidson(R) and other heavyweight cruiser motorcycles reported today that record sales orders of $5.2 million were received at the Custom Chrome (CCI) Twelfth Annual Dealer Show held at the Company's headquarters on September 18th through 20th, 1998. CCI is the largest operating division of Global.
Over 500 of CCI's dealers from around the globe attended the three day show. The international appeal of the Harley Davidson(R) motorcycle was illustrated by the attendance of dealers from over 20 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Singapore. Attendees represented all facets of the Company's customer base including independent and Harley Davidson(R) franchise motorcycle stores, retail mail order suppliers and other America heavyweight cruiser motorcycle builders. Dealers were able to speak directly with over 100 outside manufacturers who displayed their products and also to CCI's technical and sales personnel regarding the Company's proprietary products.
The Show introduced the 1999 Custom Chrome parts and accessories catalog which featured 2,900 new products for the Harley Davidson(R) motorcycle aftermarket including over 500 proprietary products, for which CCI is industry renowned. The showcase proprietary product this year was the CCI six-speed transmission; the only six-speed transmission available for Harley Davidson(R) motorcycles which can be easily fitted in a stock OEM transmission case. Test rides by dealers at the show elicited glowing praise for this product.
