'Delacroix, The Late Works' and Volvo's New State-of-the-Art S80 Featured Together at The Philadelphia Museum of ArtROCKLEIGH, N.J., Oct. 6 -- October 17 marks Philadelphia's official launch of a work of art by Volvo -- the new S80 luxury sedan. This premiere takes place in conjunction with the "Delacroix, The Late Works" exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Reunion des Musee Nationaux in Paris are the only venues to feature this impressive exhibition which celebrates the bicentennial of the birth of French painter Eugene Delacroix (1798-1863). The exhibit remains in Philadelphia until January 3, 1999. Delacroix was considered a leader in the French romantic movement, and it is likely the new Volvo S80 will be considered a leader in its class as well. This luxury sedan integrates groundbreaking safety design with performance technology, personal comfort and thoughtful security concepts. A few of the safety innovations include the Inflatable Curtain, the unique Whiplash Protection System, and personal security approach lights. The new S80 also offers dramatically different styling and remarkable performance. Volvo Cars of North America, Inc. and the Delaware Valley Volvo Retailers are 1998 Corporate Sponsors of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
