Volo Antique Auto Museum to Hold Bi-annual Auction and Expo

Going, Going, Gone...Volo Auto Museum 'No Reserve Segment' Will Drop the Gavel On Great Auction Buys Featuring an Eleven Car Private Collection
    Volo, Ill., Oct. 14 -- Volo Antique Auto Museum will offer
more than 300 cars in their bi-annual auction and expo held Oct. 24-25, 1998,
at the Volo Antique Auto Museum in Volo, Ill., featuring a "No Reserve"
special segment on Sunday.
    An eleven car private collection is being offered at "no reserve"
featuring cars in the 30's and 40's vintage.  Vehicles include everything from
Cadillac's to Lincoln Zephyr's.  Also featured in the "no reserve" segment are
a collection of Ford Model A's, T's, and B's including a 1930 Creters Ford
Model A, 100 pt. first place show winner, Popcorn Wagon.  MARC, the Model A
Restorers Club, bestowed this award on the wagon with more than $80,000
invested in the authentic restoration.
    Sure to draw a flurry of bidding activity is a 1968 Shelby GT-350,
4 speed, one woman owner with 43,000 actual miles in pristine condition, a
rare find.  A 1951 Mercury convertible with 46,000 original miles with a
Calcutta cream exterior and black and gray interior and a 1929 Ford Model A
slant windshield rare find, restored from the frame up are sure to raise
bidding paddles.  Those looking for newer vintages won't be disappointed with
the 1954 Chevy panel truck, fully restored, a 1953 Chevy 4-dr sedan with a
Continental kit, a 1967 Corvette with 35,000 original miles including factory
air in white with a red interior and a 1967 Lincoln Continental in resale red
with black leather interior and all the working options.
    Featured "reserve" cars include a 1932 Packard Coupe Roadster Model 902
series show winner restored from the frame up, a 1955 Ford T-bird convertible
in red and a 1968 Jaguar XKE Roadster.  Muscle car enthusiasts will get their
engines revved with the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z-28, 1968 Pontiac Firebird
Convertible, 1970 Dodge Charger and 1967 Pontiac GTO in resale red, fully
restored.
    "We are consigning cars right through Sunday's auction and are excited
about the no reserve cars.  When the gavel drops and the car is sold...the
price is the price," says Volo owner, Bill Grams.  This five-star premiere
auction and spectacular selection of automobiles in the museum at Old Volo
Country Village make it a one-of a kind event.
    Owner Greg Grams says, "Don't worry about foul weather.  The asphalt-paved
show car parking lot, prep tent and valet parking compliment our indoor heated
facilities.  No mud or dust on you or your car!"  Two food courts are offered
so you don't have to miss a moment of the bidding action when you feel the
need to refuel.  Bidders must be pre-qualified and have a bank letter of
credit.
    Volo Auto Museum is noted for its diverse collection of vehicles more than
500 cars offered for sale in the auction and in the museum.  Volo Auto Museum
is located at Routes 12 and 120, 50 miles northwest of Chicago.  Gate
admission is $8.00 Saturday and Sunday and hours are 10am. -- 5pm or until the
