Acura Announces Pricing on 1999 CL Coupe and Integra ModelsTORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 14 -- Acura announced pricing today on its 1999 model year Integra and CL Series automobiles, promising another year of strong sales for Acura. For model year 1999, the CL Coupe Series has been simplified to just one fully equipped trim level for both the 2.3CL and 3.0CL. Comparably equipped prices on the 2.3CL and 3.0CL coupes for 1999, featuring an increased list of standard luxury features, are down $260 and $510, respectively. For 1999, Acura also will hold the line on pricing of all Integra Sport Coupes and Sedans, while increasing levels of standard equipment on certain models. "This reflects a continuing trend at Acura to focus on giving our customers everything they desire in an automobile, without compromise," said Richard Colliver, executive vice president. "We intend to make 1999 another year of strong sales for Acura." Today's announcement follows the introduction last month of an all new 3.2TL performance luxury sedan from Acura. The new TL got off to a fast start by setting a best-ever one-month sales record for the TL model line in its first month on the market. The new TL is the second Acura model (after the CL) to be designed, developed and assembled exclusively in North America. "We're extremely pleased with the performance of the new TL," said Robert Cosmai, assistant vice president, Acura sales. "It promises to make 1999 a very exciting year for Acura." The 1999 Acura CL is offered in two distinct models -- the 2.3CL, powered by a 2.3-liter, 150-horsepower, DOHC VTEC four-cylinder engine; and the 3.0CL, powered by a 3.0-liter, 200-horsepower VTEC V-6. For 1999, the 2.3CL adds as standard a leather-trimmed interior, heated front seats, trunk-mounted cargo net and a HomeLink(R) remote control system. Other standard features include power windows, power moonroof, power mirrors, power door locks, keyless entry system, AM/FM stereo with CD player, automatic climate control, 6-way power driver's seat and theft immobilizer system. For 1999, the 3.0CL adds a leather-trimmed interior and heated front seats as standard equipment. Other standard features include heated door mirrors, 8-way power driver's seat and Acura/BOSE(R) stereo system. The Acura Integra, in its fourth consecutive year as the top-selling automobile in its class, is available in both sedan and coupe body styles and in three trim levels -- LS, GS and GS-R. For 1999, the Integra LS adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, larger diameter 15-inch alloy wheels, and a sport tuned suspension. All GS-R models for 1999 come equipped with a leather-trimmed interior. Standard equipment on all Integra models include alloy wheels, a tilt-adjustable steering column, driver's seat with height and lumbar adjustments, air conditioning, power windows, power mirrors, power moonroof and six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo system. All Integra models feature dual air bags, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, front and rear crumple zones, side impact door beams and 3-point outboard seatbelts as standard safety equipment. All Acura models are covered by a comprehensive 4-year/50,000-mile bumper- to-bumper limited warranty. Additional ownership benefits include Acura Total Luxury Care (TLC), which provides free 24-hour roadside assistance, concierge service and trip routing. 1999 ACURA PRICES Suggested Retail Price* 3.2TL 4-speed Automatic $27,950** ** Acura Navigation System is a $2,000 option -- the only factory option offered on TL. 3.0CL 4-speed Automatic $26,150 2.3CL 5-speed Manual $23,100 4-speed Automatic $23,900 INTEGRA LS Sports Coupe -- 5-speed Manual $19,200 LS Sports Coupe -- 4-speed Automatic $20,000 LS Sports Sedan -- 5-speed Manual $20,000 LS Sports Sedan -- 4-speed Automatic $20,800 GS Sports Coupe -- 5-speed Manual $20,850 GS Sports Coupe -- 4-speed Automatic $21,650 GS Sports Sedan -- 5-speed Manual $21,400 GS Sports Sedan -- 4-speed Automatic $22,200 GS-R Sports Coupe -- 5-speed Manual $22,100 GS-R Sports Sedan -- 5-speed Manual $22,400 All information correct as of October 14, 1998 *Based on manufacturer's suggested retail price, price does not include $455 destination and handling charge
