Code-Alarm Kicks Off 20th Anniversary With New Products, ProgramsLAS VEGAS, Nev., Jan. 7 -- Code-Alarm, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CODL) today kicked off its 20th year in the vehicle security business, introducing a host of new products and services at the 1999 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Madison Heights, Mich.-based vehicle security and remote keyless entry manufacturer said its CES booth (#18445-Sands Convention Center) showcases all-new product lines in the security and remote start categories, as well as a new look for its products, packaging and literature. "The 1999 CES may very well be the most important trade show in our 20 year history in the aftermarket," said Rand Mueller, president and chief executive officer. "We have completely revamped our product lines, added new technology, increased service offerings and improved our marketing with one goal in mind: simplicity." "We have worked very hard at making our products simple to sell, simple to install and, most importantly, simple for the consumer to use," said Michael Schroeder, vice president of sales and marketing. "We've stepped up our investment in research and product development, and streamlined our marketing to lend a 'good-better-best-ultimate' approach to our products that's based on common sense, quality and value." Code-Alarm is introducing four product lines at the CES show, including: * The PRO(TM) Series of vehicle security products for distributors and retail chains. * The Elite(TM) Series of vehicle security products for 12-volt specialists. * The SureGuard(TM) Series, a line of new products that allow vehicle owners to upgrade any factory-installed keyless entry system into a full-blown security system -- without having to change the factory remote. * The SureStart(TM) Series of remote vehicle starter, a line of four products designed to meet growing consumer demand for remote starters that are simple to use. Code-Alarm said the new product lines feature a variety of new patented accessories and trademarked features, including: * The all new RemoteSimple(TM) line of transmitters, featuring written function on the buttons, so consumers and dealers won't have to spend hours studying owners manuals and trying to memorize the features of each alarm." * The patented IR-s(TM) Impact Sensor, winner of the 1999 CES Innovations Award. Introduced last year, the IR-s(TM) protects vehicles against tampering, theft by towing and offers protection of vehicle contents, parts and accessories. * New RealPanic(TM) alarm function, a combination horn and siren noise which Code-Alarm describes as "the most obnoxious, attention-getting alarm noise anywhere." * New SilentChoice(TM) function, which enables users a simple choice to add or delete the chirp noise when arming or disarming the alarm. Code-Alarm will support the products with a range of new marketing materials and packaging that feature a new logo and stress the good-better- best-ultimate formula.
