Motor Sports Chicago Rolls Into Chicago Just in Time for Winter Relief
 Custom Car Show at Navy Pier Promises Fun and Entertainment for Whole Family

    CHICAGO, Jan. 13 -- Motor Sports Chicago, the Midwest's
newest and most exciting custom car show, will roll into Chicago's Navy Pier
on January 22, 23 and 24, 1999.  Produced by Harry Willett, the veteran show
director of The McCormick Place World of Wheels event, this new show will
feature something for every member of the family, young and old, and promises
to bring newcomers to the world of custom cars as well as to exhilarate those
who already hold a passion for the pastime.
    The wide spectrum of family entertainment includes world-class
competition, collectibles, exhibits, seminars and performances as well as
personal appearances by celebrities that will appeal to the whole family, said
Willett.
    Children's favorite Madeline(TM) will meet and greet her fans, while race
car driver, John Andretti will be on hand to meet enthusiasts and sign
autographs.  Motor Sports Chicago will host the Hanna Barbera Rockin
Scooby(TM) Live Stage Show, featuring Fred Flintstone, Yogi Bear and other
favorite characters as well as Acapulco Heat's Alison Armitage; Playboy
Magazine's Miss February 1999, Stacy Fuson; and the Radio Disney(R) channel,
AM1300 van, with Chicago-area radio celebrity, Babbling Brook.  In addition,
Chicago's own swing dancing sensations will perform throughout the weekend.
    Newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts will be awed by the array of driver
talent and feature cars at this inaugural car show.  The show will be host to
Jeff Gordon's #24 DuPont Nascar, Roger Gustin's Jet Dragster, Bill Elliott's
retired McDonald's Thunderbird Nascar, Cart Indy Car Fan Fest, Arnie "The
Farmer" Beswick, and the Custom Rod of the Year, the 1954 Plymouth Viper
Powered "Sniper."
    In addition, the show will feature hundreds of cars in various classes of
competition with more than $50,000 available in cash, merchandise and prizes.
Also offered at the show will be focused seminars for the car enthusiasts.
Topics include:  Bracket racing NHRA; collecting cars; Corvette Restoration;
fabrication; painting and custom painting as well as performance and
restoration, added Willett.
    Motor Sports Chicago event times are:  Friday, January 22, 1999,
5 pm-11 pm, Saturday, January 23, 1999 from 11 am-11 pm and Sunday, January
24, 1999 from 11 am-7 pm.  Admission costs are adults:  $12.00, children ages
6-12 years:  $4.00 and children under six will be admitted free of charge.
