Red Plymouth Prowler Arrives Just in Time for Valentine's Day    

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 1 -- Still in search of that extra-
special gift for your Valentine this year?  Good news.  The first batch of
1999 Red Plymouth Prowlers begin to arrive this month in Chrysler/Plymouth
dealerships, just in time for Valentine's Day.

    "What better way to impress your Valentine than to pull up in a red,
heart-pounding two seat hot rod," said Martin R. Levine, DaimlerChrysler's
Vice President of Chrysler/Plymouth and Jeep(R).  "Pay tribute to
your Valentine much the same way Prowler pays tribute to hot rods."
    The manufacturer's suggested retail price for Prowler is $40,000, which
includes destination.  When Prowler was first introduced in 1997, the vehicle
was offered only in Prowler Purple.  In March of 1998, yellow was added to the
color palette and in November of 1998, black was made available.  Red Prowler
production began in December of 1998.
    Prowler first appeared as a concept car at the 1993 North American
International Auto Show in Detroit, Mich.  Since introduction in July of 1997,
over 1,800 Plymouth Prowlers have been sold.  Prowler is manufactured at the
Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit alongside the Dodge Viper production
line.
