Rolls-Royce and Bentley Sales Rise to New High in the AmericasCHICAGO, Feb. 10 -- Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Inc. reports impressive first month sales this year. This announcement highlights the growing awareness and popularity of its new models, especially the larger range of Bentley motor cars. Sales figures were announced during the media days of the Chicago Auto Show. The company sold 56 cars in January 1999, easily eclipsing January sales for the past four years, and in fact are more than double the average number of sales for the month over that period. This is a very encouraging start to the year, and I believe it is clear evidence that the combination of the new Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph and the larger range of Bentley models has had a major impact on U.S. buyers, said the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Inc. President Alasdair Stewart. The launch last year of the new Bentley Sedanca Coupe now gives us a very good range of Bentley two-door models, which ideally complement the new Bentley Arnage saloon. The Company says initial February sales results support the trend established in January, and greater visibility of the new cars ensures it is in a good position to consolidate the strong start to the year. The early 1999 sales results for Rolls-Royce and Bentley models follows the impressive 23 percent increase in sales the company enjoyed during last year in the Americas.
