20th Century Insurance Enters Oregon With Low, Safe-Drivers-Only Rates
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--Feb. 10, 1999--20th Century Insurance Company, known for low rates based on insuring good drivers only, today announced that the company has begun providing coverage for Oregon drivers, following its approval to conduct business in the state by the Oregon Department of Insurance.
Independent studies have demonstrated that the 20th Century approach to selling full-coverage, private-passenger automobile insurance direct to good drivers only, which reduces the level of claims; maintaining centralized operations; and realizing technological and management efficiencies, have allowed the company to provide insurance coverage at rates lower than most other firms. Another factor allowing the company to offer lower rates is that it sells directly to the customer without the use of commissioned sales agents.

In addition to Oregon, 20th Century, which provides automobile insurance for more than one million drivers in California and Arizona, has been approved to begin offering its good-drivers-only Insurance programs in the states of Nevada and Washington.
