emPower Corporation Introduces a Revolutionary `TranSport'ation Alternative

    BOSTON--March 18, 1999--

The TranSport Provides Users An Efficient, Stable and
Easy-To-Use Electric Vehicle

emPower Corporation today introduced its first electric vehicle, the TranSport, a 53-pound, one person, industrial scooter with a 15 mile range and a top speed of 12 miles-per-hour.
The TranSport is the most cost effective, space and time-efficient vehicle on the market. It's three wheeled design provides the user un-compromised stability while the one horsepower motor provides the user plenty of high-speed maneuverability. With a user-programmable top speed of up to 12 miles-per-hour and a range of 15 miles, the TranSport enables its users to get around quickly without the hassles. It recharges at any wall outlet in less than four hours and will soon accommodate a quick charge in less than an hour. It can be readily folded to a footprint of only 16X12 inches and it can be pulled behind the user like airport luggage - making the TranSport the ultimate in personal transportation.
With several sophisticated features such as keyless entry, regenerative braking, user programmable top speed and finger-tip user interface, the TranSport incorporates cutting-edge-technology in a convenient and practical vehicle. The TranSport also offers a complete line of accessories that allows the user to tailor the product to their own particular needs. The offered accessories include a clipboard holder, a product-mounted bag, a trailer, and, coming soon, a quick charger.
"Transportation is the next frontier in industrial and commercial settings. Individual productivity needs to increase to meet the rigorous business demands of the next millennium. We will help business meet those demands by doing for personal transportation what the forklift did for material transportation," said Ted Kutrumbos, emPower's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
emPower Corporation was founded by industry experts from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, emPower has changed the face of the transportation industry with its latest product the TranSport. With an experienced management team that includes Michael Benjamin, the former President of Tectrix Fitness Equipment, and Ted Kutrumbos, the former Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Cannondale Corporation, emPower is poised to revolutionize personal transportation.
Supported by a distinguished Board of Directors that includes, Pat McDonough, the former President of Black and Decker US, as well as the former CEO of PictureTel Corporation, emPower is sure to make it's mark in the alternative transportation industry. The TranSport will be launched in the commercial-industrial market in late March/early April and a consumer version will be introduced later this year.
