ARS By Visteon Introduces Its First Ever Air Conditioning Components

    DEARBORN, Mich., April 30 -- Visteon Automotive Systems
introduced its new line of aftermarket air conditioning components April 23 at
the 1999 National Automotive Radiator Service Association (NARSA) Show.
    The new AC products, sold under the ARS by Visteon brand, will be
available for Ford Motor Company applications within the next month.
Products for other OEM vehicle makes will be available by the end of the year.
    AC components are the first products introduced by ARS since being
acquired by Visteon Climate Control Systems, Ltd. in December 1998.  ARS by
Visteon is the premier brand of climate control products that Visteon Climate
Control Systems sells in the automotive aftermarket industry.  In addition to
AC components, ARS by Visteon components include an array of heat transfer
products including radiators, condensers and heater cores.
    "The acquisition of ARS fits appropriately with Visteon's business
strategy of developing the most complete line of climate control products in
the automotive aftermarket industry," said Bill Klehm, president of Visteon
Climate Control Systems.  "We offer distributors and installers a single,
reliable source for their needs.
    "The launch of our AC product line is just the latest step in expanding
our product line in becoming the one-stop source for all makes, all models
climate control products."
    The new AC products are designed, engineered, tested and manufactured to
meet exacting original equipment vehicle specifications and include:

    Compressors
    The fixed capacity swashplate compressor (FS-10) utilizes 10 double-acting
pistons to provide positive compressor displacement.  The FS-10 features
lightweight aluminum construction and an efficient package design.

    Accumulators
    Visteon Climate Control Systems offers accumulators that perform to the
exacting requirements of automotive manufacturers.  Accumulators are available
in steel or aluminum, and in a number of different sizes.  A variety of
designs are offered to meet virtually all needs, including designs that can be
fitted with spring lock couplings, peanut block fittings, tube-O, or a hose
assembly.

    Evaporators
    The aluminum brazed evaporator core consists of refrigerant plates (which
form the refrigerant flow path) separated by aluminum fins.  A surface
treatment is applied for external corrosion protection, enhanced water
shedding and improved airflow characteristics.

    Hose Assemblies
    Visteon hose assemblies are customized to meet virtually any customer
need.  Visteon offers improved barrier hose materials, steel or aluminum
tubing, and a wide variety of fittings to meet varying installation and design
requirements.

    Refrigerants
    R134a and R12 are both available.
