Prolong Super Lubricants Products Available Through Target Department Stores

IRVINE, Calif.--May 7, 1999--Prolong Super Lubricants products are now available through the respected Target retail department store chain.
Both the Prolong Super Lubricants and new Prolong Appearance Products lines of consumer automotive products will be among the seven featured items for sale.
The Lubricants line will include Prolong Engine Treatment and Engine Treatment Booster, while the Appearance Products line includes Prolong Waterless Wash & Shine and Prolong Waterless Wash Refill, Prolong Paint Sealant Kit, Prolong Super Protectant Kit and Prolong Super Protectant Refill.
Target is owned by the Dayton Hudson family of companies and has more than 800 stores nationwide. Founded 53 years ago, today it is one of the two fastest-growing retailers in the rapidly expanding discount segment of general merchandise retailing.
"Our alignment with Target allows Prolong to enter one of the most popular and respected mainstream general merchandise retail chains in the U.S. today," said Prolong President and Chief Executive Officer Elton Alderman.
"Our continuing expansion allows us to reach consumers through a much elevated level of recognition and availability."
Target claims that its success and continued growth are predicated on its ability to distinguish itself from other retailers to be faster, better and different from the competition, while focusing efforts on building unique store brands.
In 1998 Target generated more than $23 billion in revenues and contributed nearly $1.6 billion of segment profit, resulting in impressive growth of compound annual increases of 14 percent in revenues and 21 percent in profits over the past five years. In addition to Target, Dayton Hudson owns and operates SuperTarget, plus Mervyn's clothing-based department stores, among others.
Prolong International Corp. (Amex:PRL), through its Prolong Super Lubricants operating subsidiary, markets and distributes patented premium car care lubricants and appearance products for automotive, industrial and consumer applications.
The company's products are marketed and sold under the trademarked names "Prolong(R) Super Lubricants," and "Prolong(R) Appearance Products" throughout the United States and in selected international markets.
