South American F-3 Preview

7 June 1999

Posadas will host the 7th and the 8th round of the Sudam F-3
Championship.

Hoover Orsi arrives in Argentina as the championship leader with 97
points, against 77 from Rodrigo Sperafico and 50 from Ricardo Sperafico.
Orsi drives for Cesario Formula and took all opportunities he had at the
beginning of this season and finished the first 6 races on the podium,
even when he hadn't the best car on track.

The Sperafico twins drive for Amir Nasr Racing, the best team in the
series, and if they keep on finishing on the podium they may have some
chance to catch Orsi for the title fight.

Leonardo Nienkotter, currently 4th in the series with 45 points, need
some good results to be back in the title challenge.

The championship will have 18 races and the 4 worst results will not
count for the championship.

Avallone Motorsport decided at the beginning of this season to race the
1998 Dallara chassis for André Nicastro and Jaime Mello, but after 6
rounds they are not happy with the results so far and want to go back to
the 1994 chassis."We lose more than 3 mph on straight speed" said Mello
"but we are a lot faster on slow and medium corners" concluded Jaime.

Posadas is a very tricky track and Orsi is one of the drivers that don't
know the track.
