Casio, Inc. Partners with Ford Motor Company to Award G-Shock and Baby-G Watches to New Focus Owners
    DOVER, N.J., Aug. 10 -- Casio, Inc. will team with Ford Motor
Company to give new Focus owners the ever popular G-Shock and Baby-G Shock
watches when they purchase the new car, it was jointly announced today by Joe
Jagelka, director, premium division at Casio Inc. and Ford Motor Company.
Launching in late September, the all new Focus will be available in the United
States and will offer this premium gift starting in September 1999.
    "We are extremely excited by this opportunity to partner with Ford's
newest compact car -- the Focus,"  said Jagelka.  "The Focus' targeted
demographic profile aligns perfectly with that of G-Shock."
    All the G-Shock and Baby-G  models selected by Ford have 12 unique
features including: shock resistant, 100M/200M water resistance, countdown
timer, Electro-Luminescent backlight, hourly time signals, auto calendar and
stopwatch.  Focus owners will be offered either a G-Shock or Baby-G watch from
seven different models in over 10 colors and styles.
    G-Shock and Baby-G watches are designed to withstand any extreme
condition.  Also, its endorsement of alternative sports and music is a
testimony to the authenticity of the individuals that wear them.  They belong
to people who have a flair for style and a passionate determination to succeed
at whatever they set out to do.

with the Ford Motor Company, said Marty Gormley, vice president of the
timepiece division.  "We position our products as not just a watch, but a
lifestyle.  G-Shock and Ford Focus target young people who demand products
that fit in with their active lifestyle."
    As the 1999 European Car of the Year, the new Ford Focus is designed to
raise the standard of what a small car should be with new levels of roominess,
comfort, driving dynamics and safety.  The Focus will be available in three
body styles including a sporty three-door, four-door sedan and a versatile
wagon.
