NCT Group, Inc. (OTCBB: NCTI) today announced that its ProActive(R) Active Noise Reduction (ANR) earmuff will be marketed by Racing Electronics to car racing fans for use with scanners at racing events. The ProActive ANR earmuff will be available at all NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series events in the Racing Electronics retail vending trailers which sell scanners, headsets and souveniers on-site. Additionally, Racing Electronics will include the ProActive ANR earmuff on its e-commerce site at www.racingelectronics.com, as well as in its mail order catalog.
"We are always looking for innovative products to offer to our customers that will help enhance their experience at a racing event," said Bean Hankins, Director of Purchasing, Racing Electronics. "The ProActive ANR Earmuff really cuts back on background noise, enabling the user to hear every word from the scanner."
The ProActive is a high performance earmuff that electronically reduces low-frequency background noise generated by engines and motors that is prevalent at car racing events. Traditional earplugs and earmuffs are ineffective against low frequencies. Low frequency noise is a scientifically-proven detriment to speech intelligibility. Therefore, in a race track setting, it is very difficult to understand what is being said over the scanner unless the background noise is electronically reduced.
"The ProActive ANR Earmuff is a must for any true race fan, because it provides unsurpassed scanner clarity," said Irene Lebovics, President, NCT Hearing Products, a division of NCTI. "Additionally, reducing that stressful background noise should enhance the enjoyment of the event."
The ProActive earmuff is uniquely powered with a small, rechargeable Ni-Cd battery pack which fits into one earcup. One charge lasts for a minimum of 12 hours. An audio input jack allows the earmuff to be used in conjunction with scanners for clear listening without overamplification (which creates a hearing hazard).
Headsets with ANR technology can be found in aviation and the military for as much as $1,200. The ProActive ANR Earmuff is available from Racing Electronics for a retail price of $159.99.
