Goodyear Is Corporate Sponsor for Toys for Tots
AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 15 -- The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
is getting into the Christmas spirit this year by becoming a major
corporate sponsor for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
As a sponsor, Goodyear Auto Service Centers and independent dealers will
become "drop-off" points for donations.
"As business leaders in their communities, Goodyear retailers can
demonstrate their commitment to the community through the Toys for Tots
program," said Marco Molinari, Goodyear's vice president of sales and
marketing, North American Tires.
"For the past 50 years, Toys for Tots has been the U.S. Marine Corps'
premier community action program," he said. "It's a part of America's culture
and a part of every community it reaches."
Through the Toys for Tots program, Goodyear retailers can help unite the
community in a common cause -- to make a positive impact on the lives of needy
children, as well as the community, Molinari added.
The Toys for Tots program will run from Oct. 1 through Dec. 22. During
that time, Goodyear retailers will display posters that designate them as
national sponsors. Furthermore, many retailers are expected to demonstrate
their originality by creating novel Toys for Tots collection bins out of
tires.
