Top 10 Cars of the Century On Display at duPont Registry's Car Museum
    ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 29 -- duPont Registry will
display the top 10 cars of its "Top 100 Cars of the Century," a special
millennium issue, in the company's car museum in St. Petersburg, FL. The top
10 cars will be on display for several charities, the media and employee
family members the morning of Saturday, October 9, 1999 from 10:00 am - 12:00
noon. duPont Registry is hosting a private party in honor of the millennium
issue the evening of October 9, 1999 to coincide with the issue's arrival on
newsstands at upscale bookstores and airports throughout the nation.
Automobiles on display will include the exotic 1999 Lamborghini Diablo, 1995
McLaren F1, the 1995 Ferrari F50, and the rare 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL
Gullwing.
    "duPont Registry, A Buyer's Gallery of Fine Automobiles" surveyed its
readers around the world as well as visitors to its web site on the most
popular cars of the 20th century.  duPont Registry was interested in using the
opinions of car enthusiasts instead of using a panel of automobile experts to
create the list.  The magazine conducted the survey between January and May
1999.  Participants wrote in their choices for the 10 best cars of the
century.  The top 100 cars were determined by compiling these votes.
    duPont Publishing, Inc. launched "duPont Registry, A Buyer's Gallery of
Fine Automobiles" in 1985.  The magazine focuses on the buying and selling of
collectible, luxury and exotic automobiles. "A Buyer's Gallery of Fine Homes"
and "A Buyer's Gallery of Fine Boats" are two additional magazines under the
duPont Registry name, which market luxury homes and boats respectively.
