Thrifty Opens New Regional Office and Rental Facility in Montreal
MONTREAL, Oct. 5 -- Thrifty Car Rental has opened a new
$2.3 million regional office in Dorval that will house Thrifty's
administrative offices, as well as one of the largest rental centers in
Quebec, according to Yves Boyer, President and CEO of Thrifty Canada, Ltd.
Construction of the ultramodern complex, located at 55th Avenue and
Cote-de-Liesse, began in March, 1999, in anticipation of rapid financial and
locational growth in Quebec.
    Situated on a 2.3-acre lot, the 10,000 square-foot facility will house a
rental fleet expected to reach 1,100 cars early next year, and serve as a
regional service center for the company's vehicles in the greater Montreal
area. Dorval was selected for the site because of its strategic location and
accessibility.
"With this opening, we are confident in the future and ready for new
opportunities in Quebec," said Boyer. "The new made-to-order complex suits
Thrifty's needs to perfection."
The new service center, equipped with more than $250,000 worth of state-
of-the-art equipment, is expected to increase production volume 30% to 40% and
service more than 3,400 of the company's cars per month.
