Could the Gas Pump 'Y2K Bug' Leave You Running on Empty?
Pennzoil Says a Pre-Holiday Fill-Up, Plus Stocking Your Trunk with Rescue(R)
                    Emergency Fuel Additive are Prescribed

HOUSTON, Dec. 13 -- Millions of people are taking steps to
avoid problems at home and in their offices if the "Y2K bug"" bites over this
New Year's holiday. Many, though, are neglecting what's in their garages.
While the American Petroleum Institute reports that gas pumps are expected
to function normally as long as electrical power is available, there is the
possibility that electrical power will be impacted by the Y2K bug, leaving
drivers without gasoline.
To prepare for a Y2K sting at the gas pump, car owners should consider
    -- topping off gas tanks before the end of the year;
-- and stocking their trunks with at least one container of an emergency
fuel additive, such as the new Pennzoil Roadside(TM) Rescue(R).

Recently introduced by the Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, Rescue(R) is
a safe, conveniently packaged emergency fuel additive which transports
out-of-gas vehicles about 10 miles from the side of the road to safety when
poured into the fuel tank of a car with a hot engine. Rescue(R), available
nationwide in half-gallon containers for approximately $14.99, can be stored
conveniently in the trunk of a car for up to five years. Business Week
magazine has named Rescue(R) one of it's 30 Best Products of 1999.
"No one expects to run out of gas, but everyone can and should be prepared
in case it happens," says Alice Crowder, senior marketing manager for
Pennzoil-Quaker State Company's automotive chemicals division. "Rescue(R) is
a practical, efficient solution to an empty gas tank that provides consumers
with a safety net during an emergency situation, such as Y2K, and everyday
driving peace of mind."
Pennzoil Roadside(TM) and Rescue(R) brand products are manufactured by
Pennzoil-Quaker State Company , a leading automotive consumer
products company. Pennzoil-Quaker State Company markets premium quality
lubricants and some 1,300 other car care products, and is the parent company
of Jiffy Lube International, Inc., the world's largest franchiser of fast oil
change centers.
