Detroit/Los Angeles Auto Shows to Kick Off Automotive Y2K; 'Caught In The Web' Spy Photos: Lincoln Town Car and Ferrari F360 Modena Spider
DETROIT, Dec. 28 -- While the rest of the world stocks up on
bottled water and races to complete expense reports, http://www.thecarconnection.com
bravely marches into the new millennium with a sneak preview of the upcoming
Detroit and Los Angeles auto shows.

The Car Connection, the Internet's leading automotive e-zine, will have
live online coverage of both shows starting January 6, but there's no reason
to wait with this week's previews. Get an advanced look at some of the first
new models to make their Y2K debut, including the all-new Ford Escape SUV,
DaimlerChrysler's redesigned minivans, Volkswagen's Crew Cab pickup, and the
Lexus LS430 high-performance luxury sedan.

In this week's industry news, the Federal government has mandated that
SUVs and minivans meet tighter emission standards starting in 2004, and
http://www.thecarconnection.com brings you up-to-date on the effect this will have on
products and prices. General Motors is stretching its Asian connections even
further, inking a deal with Honda to buy low-emission engines. But GM's Asian
efforts may not be enough to satisfy analysts and investors who think it may
be time for another shake-up at the world's largest automaker.

Meanwhile, with hundreds of automotive web sites already in operation, is
there an e-auto shakeout in the works as well? Then check the results of The
Car Connection's readers poll to see if people are really ready to buy cars
online.

"Caught in the Web," the http://www.thecarconnection.com weekly spy photo
feature, captures the bigger and better Lincoln Town Car of the future, as
well as the exotic Ferrari F360 Modena Spider.

Web users can also access The Car Connection by going to the PR Newswire
site http://www.prnewswire.com . In addition, PR Newswire provides the text of all
the manufacturers' news releases from the auto shows -- including the big
Detroit and Los Angeles shows coming up next week, along with all the other
business news of the day.

The Car Connection, http://www.thecarconnection.com , is the nation's premier
automotive "e-zine." Turn to it for the latest news, reviews, and often-
controversial reviews. You'll find driving tips from racing instructor Bob
Bondurant, helpful maintenance advice from On-Site Mechanic Bob Weber, and
"spy shots" of tomorrow's hottest products Caught in the Web.

Readers can now find new and used car prices, a complete photo gallery of
current models, and free new car brochures. A new feature adds the respected
resources of the Kelley Blue Book used car price guide. The Car Connection
also offers a timely car calendar and the web's most expansive automotive
