Ford to Webcast Events From North American International Auto Show 2000
    DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 6 -- For the first time, the doors to
the exclusive media previews of the North American International Auto Show
will be open to the world when Ford Motor Company broadcasts live
its seven news conferences over the Internet.
    The webcasts, beginning at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 on http://www.ford.com , will
give consumers the chance to witness firsthand the unveilings of new
production and concept vehicles, and technologies.  In addition, Ford will
webcast the first hour of activities within its stand of the black-tie charity
event on Friday, Jan. 14.
    Each webcast will combine streaming audio and video, and will be available
at different speeds to accommodate the needs of various users.  Each visitor
to the site will need either Windows Media Player or Real Player software to
see the event.  Links to download the software of the different players are
available on http://www.ford.com .
    News Conference and webcast schedule (all times are U.S. Eastern Standard
Time):

    *  Sunday, Jan. 9, 2:15 p.m. -- "Concept Connection" Ford President and
Chief Executive Officer Jac Nasser and Vice President of Design J Mays explain
how Ford Motor Company finds new ways to keep customers connected with
exciting new concept vehicles.
    *  Monday, Jan. 10, 8:10 a.m. -- "Cleaner. Safer. Sooner."  Nasser and
Ford Motor Company Chairman Bill Ford discuss the next step in the company's
plans to offer customers products that meet their environmental needs without
compromising on value and excitement.
    *  Monday, Jan. 10, 12:50 p.m. -- Volvo, the latest addition to the Ford
Motor Company family, unveils an all-new vehicle.
    *  Tuesday, Jan. 11, 10:10 a.m. -- Ford Division debuts its latest
vehicle, designed to help customers escape ... to anywhere.
    *  Tuesday, Jan. 11, 10:40 a.m. -- Jaguar reveals its idea for future
luxury with a brand new concept vehicle.
    *  Tuesday, Jan. 11, 3 p.m. -- Mazda breaks through to the future with a
new concept vehicle.
    *  Wednesday, Jan. 12, 10:40 a.m. -- "Safer. Sooner."  Ford Motor Company
will announce a major technology announcement to make future products even
safer.
    *  Friday, Jan. 14, 5:30 p.m. -- Ford Motor Company webcasts the first
hour of activity during the black-tie charity event from the auto show.
