FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Feb. 8 -- Hyundai Motor America will
preview the Santa Fe, their new addition to the SUV market, at the Sixth
Annual Comedy Arts Festival held in Aspen, Colo., February 9-12, 2000. This
will mark the Santa Fe's first consumer appearance outside of the Detroit and
Los Angeles Auto Shows in January.
"The Santa Fe received such high marks from both the media and consumers
at the L.A. and Detroit shows that we felt it was time to showcase its many
features to a wider consumer audience," said Robert Dutcheshen, HMA
merchandising and promotions manager, "There couldn't be a more appropriate
stage than the Comedy Arts Festival to debut Santa Fe's fun, adventurous style
which mixes perfect with our core demographic."
For the second year in a row, Hyundai will be the exclusive vehicle
sponsor of the Comedy Arts Festival. In addition to previewing the Santa Fe
with an onsite car display and information booth, the company will be
sponsoring all comedic performances held at the Hotel Jerome. Hyundai also
will be hosting a raffle where guests can register to win one of four portable
DVD players.
The Comedy Arts Festival is the premier comedy event in the country and,
like Sundance, Cannes and the Academy Awards, is a major Hollywood event for
entertainment executives and high profile talent. This year, comedic great
Robin Williams will be awarded the coveted AFI Star Award, which recognizes
individuals whose work represents excellence in film and television. Past
recipients of the AFI Star Award include Jerry Springer, Monty Python, Albert
Brooks and Steve Martin. For more information on the Comedy Arts Festival and

The Santa Fe is the first sport utility vehicle designed, engineered and
developed by Hyundai, South Korea's leading automaker. The Hyundai SUV, which
is built on an extensively revised version of the Sonata mid-size car
platform, offers buyers the unique combination of car-like drivability,
steering, ride, handling and braking with truck-like seating height and
profile and the traction and security of available all-wheel-drive.
Hyundai Motor America, based in Fountain Valley, Calif., is a subsidiary
of Hyundai Motor Company of Korea. Hyundai cars are distributed in the United
States by Hyundai Motor America and are sold and serviced through nearly 500
dealerships nationwide.
