Hawkhill Technologies' Tap-Operable Turn Signaling Tops List of Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG's 'Good-News' UpgradesADKINS, Texas, Feb. 24 -- In a recent vehicle review (http://www.usatoday.com/money/consumer/autos/mareview/mauto517.htm), USA TODAY'S award-winning automotive columnist, James W. Healey, listed several "good-news" upgrades that make "big differences in daily use" on the new Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG. Healey's list was topped by "Turn signals that blink thrice with a tap of the lever. No need to hold it to signal a lane change. You do signal when moving over, don't you?"(1) In techno-speak, Hawkhill Technologies' tap-operable turn signaling, AccuBlink(TM), is a proprietary, supra-conventional signal-system capability enabled by advanced, momentary-lever-closure-sensing electronics. It requires no signal-lever modification and is responsive to both one-shot and on-the-fly-additive lever taps. The amazing coexistence AccuBlink inaugurates -- between hands-free, self-terminating signaling and latched-on signaling that can remain latched indefinitely -- makes it a must-have solution for all aspiring "more-blinker-proactive" drivers. License Availability: The AccuBlink capability, as first and definitively described by US Patent 5,486,809 (http://www.patents.ibm.com/details?pn=US05486809__&s_clms=1), is available for licensing from the owner of the patent, Hawkhill Technologies, LLC. Interested entities should contact Ben Wadlington, Jr., Managing Principal of Hawkhill at 830-947-3045 or via email at turnsignal@aol.com. Hawkhill's activities on behalf of AccuBlink have included provision of AccuBlink-mockup modules to major automotive OEMs and assistance to major automotive OEMs in specifying AccuBlink to their tier-one suppliers of body-control modules, dash clusters and the like. In addition to being protected by a US patent, the AccuBlink capability is the subject of patents either granted or pending worldwide. An aftermarket module, capable of retrofitting AccuBlink into turn-signal systems of existing vehicles, is planned for introduction by Hawkhill in Q2, 2000.
