Volvo Announces Prices of V70
    ROCKLEIGH, N.J., Feb. 28 -- The all-new Volvo V70, the next
generation family car, will have a base price of $32,400 while the Volvo V70
T5 Sportswagon will start at $33,400 when the cars go on sale in the United
States on April 1, 2000.
    The all-new V70 will launch with two turbo variants, reinforcing the fact
that these cars are designed to deliver driving performance and excitement in
a package that also delivers versatility, style and functionality, explains
Hans-Olov Olsson, President and CEO of Volvo Cars of North America, Inc.
    The V70 will set new standards for both versatility and roominess, while
offering all the safety features expected on a Volvo, including the new Volvo
ISO-FIX child seat latches, which will be mandated to be on all manufacturers
cars by 2002.
