BorgWarner Turbo Systems Offers Replacement Turbocharger for 7.3L Navistar Engine

INDIANAPOLIS--March 23, 2000--BorgWarner Turbo Systems now offers a replacement option for the 7.3L diesel engine turbocharger. The company offers three different versions of its turbocharger for use with a variety of Navistar's 7.3L International engines, including those featured on Ford Power Stroke pick-up trucks.
The turbocharger is designed to be used with the engine's existing pedestal and white smoke valve, two components that seldom fail. All of the turbocharger's components are interchangeable, so that specific parts can be replaced without installing a complete turbocharger.
The replacement turbocharger is available in three models with 0.84 A/R, 1.00 A/R or 1.15 A/R. The 1.15 A/R is standard on most Ford Power Stroke vehicles from 1993 to 1997, but the 1.00 A/R is often used in performance upgrade packages.
BorgWarner offers exceptional service to back its quality products. "With 150 distributors across North America, our service in the field is second to none," explained Dave Keiner, Vice President and General Manager, Aftermarket. "We strive for quick order turnaround - 24 hours in many cases - allowing us to get premium quality products into our customers hands with minimal downtime."
The BorgWarner Turbo Systems turbocharger fits a wide range of light- and medium-duty 7.3L Navistar engines. It features bearing housings made from ductile iron, a stronger and more durable substance which allows the product to better handle stress.
BorgWarner Turbo Systems manufactures and markets a full line of turbochargers for vehicular applications around the world. The global business unit is comprised of the former Schwitzer Engine Components business in the U.S. and the 3K-Warner turbocharger business in Europe.
Chicago-based BorgWarner, Inc. is a product leader in highly engineered components and systems primarily for vehicle powertrain applications worldwide. The company has 12,000 employees and operates 54 manufacturing and technical facilities in 13 countries. Customers include Navistar, Sterling, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Caterpillar, John Deere, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, Toyota, and VW Group.
