American Isuzu Motors Inc. to Award Brand New 2000 Isuzu VehiCROSS To Eco-Challenge Broadcast Sweepstakes Winner
New Isuzu VehiCROSS is Grand Prize in Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge
Presented by Isuzu 'You View It, You Do It' Sweepstakes

CERRITOS, Calif., March 27 American Isuzu Motors Inc.
(AIMI), in celebration of those with the spirit and drive to "go farther," is
proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge
Expedition Race(TM). The race airs on Sunday, April 9th through Monday,
April 10th, from 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM ET/PT each night on the Discovery Channel.
The "You View It, You Do It" sweepstakes occurs during the broadcast of
the Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge Expedition Race(TM). Viewers of the
broadcast will be invited to call a toll-free number to win the Grand Prize, a
2000 Isuzu VehiCROSS or one of thousands of "instant-win" prizes during
selected commercial breaks.
Viewers, in addition to vying for a new Isuzu VehiCROSS, will see several
Isuzu SUVs, in action as they work feverishly to move camera operators, their
gear and support equipment over terrain barely passable by wheeled vehicles
while pacing the competitors.
And if that's not enough interactivity to satisfy the need to "Go
farther," adventure racing enthusiasts are invited to log on to the Discovery
Channel's website (http://www.discovery.com) in April. Discovery Online Network will
bring the race back to the front of the site updated with new features on the
race and competitors.
The Eco-Challenge race is an ecologically aware wilderness Expedition
Race(TM). Teams of experienced back-country adventurers, men and women
combined, race across a vast area of majestic terrain using only a map, a
compass and their combined wits. Successful finishing requires teamwork,
endurance, spirit and compassion. Teams must travel and finish together in
order to be officially ranked. The race featured in up and coming broadcast
was conducted in December 1999 in Patagonia, Argentina.
In support of the broadcast of the race, AIMI is participating in the
Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge Adventure Tour with highly visible signage and
logo placements in addition to displaying an Isuzu VehiCROSS SUV on-site. The
Adventure Tour is a national traveling showcase of interactive and
participatory exhibits that allow visitors to experience the challenges of the
Expedition Race.
Visitors to the Adventure Tour are greeted with a state-of-the art
exhibition, highlighting the Expedition Race(TM). Hands-on interactive
displays, incredible race footage and appearances by the Discovery Channel
Eco-Challenge (DCEC) athletes help guests experience first-hand the
exhilaration of Expedition Racing(TM). Upon entering the Adventure Tour,
local visitors begin their tour in the High Definition Eco-Theater. Guests
can view DCEC race footage from Patagonia, Argentina, shot in state-of-the-art
high definition format, on a 65" screen.
As visitors proceed through the Adventure Tour and the various interactive
adventure check points they can:

    -- Test their balance.
    -- Test their reaction time.
-- Refine their mountain climbing ability on a vertical treadmill.
-- Learn about "Tools of the Trade" in display cases housing racer
equipment, shoes, food and race artifacts.
-- Experience a new Isuzu VehiCROSS.

Local visitors conclude their adventure in the "Transport 6" simulator
ride. This enclosed capsule will send visitors on a first person adventure
including, whitewater rafting, ascending and rappelling, mountain biking and
mountaineering. Riders will get a glimpse into Adventure Racing(TM) as they
trek, travel and traverse along various perilous DCEC racecourses all from the
comfort of their seats within the simulator. To heighten the DCEC experience,
the simulator features spectacular special effects including, a sub-woofer
"big sound," a light mist (to simulate water throughout the whitewater rafting
leg) and a tumble and roll motion. The DCEC, Argentina race participants will
also demonstrate race techniques, sign autographs and answer questions.
The 10-city Adventure Tour began in Atlanta, Georgia in February and ends
in New York, New York April 9th.  The tour included Orlando, Florida;
Woodlands, Texas; and Phoenix, Arizona in February. In March the tour was in
Los Angeles, California; San Francisco, California; Northbrook, Illinois;
Baltimore, Maryland; and King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
