Torvec Readies Transmission for EPA Testing Technology Showcased at Torvec.com 
    ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 25 Torvec, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: TOVC) is accelerating its transmission program
in response to aggressive goals for reducing diesel pollution
announced this week by the EPA and the Clinton Administration.
    Torvec has contracted for the production of a prototype of its
infinitely variable transmission.  This will be installed in a
diesel truck and sent to the EPA's California testing facility.
Torvec's research suggests the EPA will find its transmission
significantly reduces fuel consumption and carcinogenic particle
emissions using standard diesel fuel.
    Torvec's transmission eliminates the thick black clouds of soot
emitted by diesel engines when they accelerate or change gears.
This is because the transmission keeps the engine at a steady RPM
during acceleration, and because there is no gear shifting when
changing speeds.  EPA testing will precisely measure these
improvements in fuel efficiency and pollution reduction.  Torvec
believes it has the only infinitely variable transmission with
enough torque for trucks.
    Torvec's transmission will also be installed in the Company's
FTV(TM) tracked vehicle, which can gently navigate the roughest
terrain with low ground pressure. The FTV can go where 4WD trucks
can't while carrying a heavier load.  The FTV can travel at highway
speeds and uses a conventional steering wheel to direct its
steel-reinforced rubber tracks.  The FTV has many commercial and
rescue applications and has generated interest from companies and
