DENSO's Top-Ranked Car Navigation System Is First to Offer Complete Map Coverage for U.S.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Japan-based DENSO Corporation,
a leader in car navigation systems since 1987, today announced that DENSO's
top-ranked in-vehicle navigation system for North America will be the first to
offer complete digital U.S. map coverage.

ITS Research General Manager Richard Pearlman of DENSO International
America, Inc. said, "We successfully merged two mapping databases to create a
single new database that covers all U.S. highways, and urban and rural areas.
This is the first time that such complete U.S. in-vehicle navigation coverage
has been available."

Previously, DENSO navigation systems featured only U.S. highways and urban
areas.

Geographic Data Technology, Inc. (GDT), of Lebanon, N.H., and Navigation
Technologies, Inc. (NavTech), of Rosemont, Ill., supplied the two original
databases. Individually, the GDT database included detailed urban and rural
streets and addresses, while the NavTech database focused on U.S. highways and
urban areas.

"The new merged database will be offered to all customers whose cars are
equipped with DENSO's new Digital Versatile Disk (DVD) navigation systems,"
Pearlman said.

DENSO introduced DVD navigation systems based on the Kiwi format* last
year in Japan.

Currently, DENSO navigation systems are available in the following North
American vehicles: Lexus LS 400, Lexus GS Sedan, Jaguar S-Type, and Cadillac
DeVille and Seville.

"The quick response of DENSO car navigation systems makes them easier to
use than competing products," said Pearlman. "In the future, DENSO will merge
car navigation with its wireless communication technology. This will bring
the power of telematics and the wireless Internet to the state-of-the-art in-
vehicle computing terminal."

DENSO Corporation, the fourth largest automotive supplier in the world,
employs 81,000 people in 26 countries with global sales of $17.8 billion for
the fiscal year ending March 31, 2000.

In North America, DENSO employs 13,000 people at 21 companies and 5
technical centers with 1999 consolidated sales totaling $3.6 billion.
