Formula One: Honda to supply 'works' engines to Jordan Grand Prix

Tokyo HONDA TO SUPPLY "WORKS" ENGINES TO JORDAN Tokyo, June 29, 2000 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced today that in addition to its joint F1 project with British American Racing (BAR), it has reached an agreement to supply Honda F1 engines to Jordan Grand Prix Ltd. (Jordan) from the beginning of the 2001 season. Honda has taken this decision as a result of having considered a proposal presented by Jordan. Starting from next season, Honda will supply identical specification works engines to both BAR and Jordan. Honda will also continue with its efforts to jointly develop chassis technology with BAR, which is one of the main objectives of its third period of F1 participation. "Along with our joint development of chassis technology with BAR, supplying works engines to Jordan represents a new challenge in Honda's third period of participation in F1," said Takeo Fukui, Senior Managing and Representative Director of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., in charge of Honda's motor sports activities. He added: "Through these efforts, we will continue to do our utmost to meet the expectations of motor sports fans.
