Digitas Names Maureen Bailey to Top Communications Post

    BOSTON - Digitas, Inc., the leader in bricks and clicks business integration, today announced that Maureen Bailey has been named senior vice president, communications.

    Ms. Bailey, 49, previously was a principal of Citigate Sard Verbinnen. At Digitas, she will be responsible for public relations, investor relations, employee communications and the Digitas Web site (www.digitas.com).

    Kathy Biro, vice chairman and president of Digitas, said, "With a background that includes journalism, Wall Street and public affairs, Maureen brings a unique perspective to her work in communications. She has worked with some of the world's truly great brands, and we are delighted that she has joined our leadership team in this key role."

    Prior to joining Sard Verbinnen, Ms. Bailey headed communications for Prudential Investments. Previously, she was vice president, public affairs for American Express, where she managed communications for the consumer card and establishment services groups while serving on the executive committee of the vice chairman. She also is the former head of media relations for Kidder, Peabody, a post she assumed after spending several years at Salomon Brothers, first as an investment policy analyst, later as an institutional equities salesperson. Prior to joining Salomon Brothers, she was an associate editor of Barron's. Her work has also appeared in The Economist.

    Ms. Bailey holds a B.A. degree in English from Barat College. She also studied at Oxford University in England and the Sorbonne in Paris.
