Allied Products Announces Ford Order For Three ETF Retrofits

Allied Products Announces That Its Verson Division Has Received Ford Order For Three ETF Retrofits

CHICAGO - Allied Products Corporation announced today that its Verson
division has received an order for three Electronic Transfer Feeds from Ford
Motor Company to retrofit existing mechanical-feed presses.

These ETFs are modular in construction, allowing easy installation and
maintenance. This improves press flexibility to produce a broader family of
parts and reduce down time.

Verson pioneered Electronic Transfer Feed technology in the early 1980s
and is recognized as the technological leader in this field. Verson has done
all the ETF retrofits for Ford since the auto manufacturer began its
modernization program in the late 1980s.

The retrofits will be done in the Ford stamping plants at Buffalo, NY and
Chicago Heights, Ill. Projected completion dates are the second quarter of
2001. Besides Ford, Verson has supplied other automobile manufacturers and
Tier 1 automotive suppliers with ETF technology.

Commenting on the new order, Richard A. Drexler, Chairman, President and
Chief Executive Officer of Allied Products, stated: "We feel the Ford order
confirms Verson's continued technological leadership in the field of
electronic transfer feeds, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to
continue our long working relationship with Ford."

Allied Products consists of the Verson division, which manufactures large
metal forming presses; the Verson Standard Products Division, which produces
small metal forming presses; Verson Pressentechnik GmbH, a joint venture based
in Germany that markets stamping presses and related systems; and Precision
Press Industries, which fabricates large welded components.
