Federal-Mogul Appoints Robert Claycomb, Operations Manager, Sintered Products, Powertrain Systems - Americas

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Richard Levin, vice president, manufacturing operations, 
Powertrain Systems - Americas, announces the appointment of Robert Claycomb to 
the position of operations manager, Sintered Products, effective immediately. 
Claycomb will report to Levin and will have responsibility for sintered products 
operations at the Dayton, Ohio; Marshall, Illinois; and Waupun, Wisconsin, 
facilities.  At this time he will continue to have responsibility for the engine 
bearing operations.  Claycomb replaces Rocco Petrilli who left the company to 
pursue other opportunities.

    "Bob's operations are some of the best examples of lean manufacturing
plants in our Powertrain Systems group.  I believe Bob's knowledge and
guidance will be welcomed by the Sintered Product facilities," said Levin.

    Prior to this appointment, Claycomb was the plant manager at the
St. Johns, Michigan, facility.  He has been with St. Johns since he joined
Federal-Mogul in 1982.  Previously, Claycomb held a variety of engineering and
management positions with Massey Ferguson and the Ford Motor Company.

    Claycomb earned a master of business administration degree in management
science from Indiana Northern University and a bachelor of science degree in
mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University.

    Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is an automotive
parts manufacturer providing innovative solutions and systems to global
customers in the automotive, light truck, heavy-duty, and farm and industrial
markets.  The company was founded in 1899.
