Puradyn Appoints Kevin G. Kroger as President and Chief Operating Officer

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Richard C. Ford, CEO of Puradyn Filter Technologies, Inc., today announced that Kevin G. Kroger has joined the Company as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Kroger's background comprises twenty-nine years of management experience in the capital goods and heavy-duty power generation industries. His experience covers virtually all areas -- from engineering, product sales and high level administration. Mr. Kroger, 48, holds a B. S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, W. Lafayette, Indiana.

From 1997, Mr. Kroger held the position of Vice President and General Manager for Detroit Diesel Corporation , having the responsibility for the P & L and operations of two product lines representing diesel power offerings ranging from 42 to 425 horsepower. His association with Detroit Diesel began in 1989 and until taking his latest post served as President and COO of that company's distributor in South Florida until 1991, and following that as President and COO of Detroit Diesel's Mexico subsidiary. Prior thereto, from 1987 to 1989, he was Vice President of R. E. S. Leasing, Orlando, Florida and V. E. Corporation, Arlington, Texas. Mr. Kroger also held prior management positions with Caterpillar, Inc. , Peoria, Illinois from 1971 to 1987.

In making the announcement, Mr. Ford stated, "We are pleased to welcome Mr. Kroger as Puradyn's President and COO. His proven management success with major corporations is impressive as is his ability in product marketing. In particular, his technical background, experience with a variety of product offerings and wide knowledge of the capital equipment markets both here, as well as outside the U. S., are all strong points in assuring that Puradyn's ambitious long term goals for building commercial sales will be achieved. Mr. Kroger's skills in economic affairs are further demonstrated by the role he played as a member of the U. S./Mexican Business Council, during his tenure for Detroit Diesel in that country, in the successful efforts to help establish NAFTA."

Mr. Kroger commented, "As tighter emission regulations worldwide become effective, engine lubrication will require more effective filtration. The Puradyn bypass filter is designed to exceed these new filtration requirements for the lubrication of these engines."

Puradyn Filter Technologies, Inc. manufactures and markets the Puradyn(TM) Bypass Oil Filtration System, a unit that continuously purifies lubricating oil and greatly reduces (or eliminates) the necessity for oil changes. The refiner also extends the useful life of the equipment. The Puradyn system is effective for internal combustion engines, hydraulic applications and automatic transmissions in the automotive, transportation, construction, marine, agriculture, mining, military and power generating industries. In addition to the economies realized by the reduced purchases of new oil and the costs of disposing of used oil (up to 90%) and extended equipment life, the Puradyn(TM) Bypass Oil Filtration System has been certified as a "Pollution Preventing Technology" by the California Environmental Protection Agency.
