Auto Club Presents Annual Auto Repair Awards

Top Shops Rated on Customer Satisfaction and Service Quality

    LOS ANGELES - Twenty-seven Southland vehicle repair shops have earned the Automobile Club of Southern California's Approved Auto Repair Quality Service Award for customer satisfaction and service quality.

    The honorees were selected from among more than 700 Approved Auto Repair facilities, which are independent businesses regularly inspected by the Auto Club.

    To earn the Auto Club's award, the shops had to receive 99 percent or better customer satisfaction rates, operate a professional garage without facility or equipment deficiencies, and receive no complaints.

    "These shops represent the cream of the crop in the automotive repair industry," said Ed Lindsay, manager of the Auto Club's Approved Auto Repair program. "By exceeding our program's strict requirements, the winners demonstrate they want to give top value and quality to motorists."

    Ninety-six Approved Auto Repair facilities also were recognized by the Auto Club for the number of years that they have met the program's standards. Those with 10, 15 and 20 years' tenure as Approved Auto Repair shops will receive longevity awards.

    "The longevity awards represent longstanding service to the community," said Lindsay. "Year in, and year out these shops maintain high standards and keep up with the technological changes in their field."

    Steve's Independent in Northridge was the only Southern California shop to earn both quality and longevity awards this year. Other noteworthy quality award winners are Automotive Technology of El Cajon; Jon Woods Automotive of San Diego; and Sarver's of Santa Ana who've received quality awards for four out of the past five years.
