Utilizing Rubber of Firestone Tires Offers A Solution To Recall Problem URECOATS RUBBER SEALANT MEMBRANE: The Answer To Tire Dumping

    POMPANO BEACH, Fla.--Sept. 12, 2000--With the recall of 6.5 million Bridgestone/Firestone tires, and further recalls anticipated, environmental and health concerns have been raised about the tires reaching tire dumps.
    Over the recall period, the United States is facing a record number of tires which will be sent to tire dumps across the nation significantly increasing the size of tire dumps. These tire dumps are breeding zones for mosquitos which are therorized to be a link to the West Nile disease in New York and New Jersey.
    Urecoats Industries Inc. offers the product URECOATS 100 RUBBER SEALANT MEMBRANE (RSM) which is made in part from recycled tires. This product is a breakthrough technology sealant with coating applications for steel structures, concrete, automobiles, roofing and the marine industry.
    RSM acts as a seamless vapor barrier that eliminates the possibility of air or water intrusion, thus preventing corrosion and deterioration. The adhesion forces create an uncompromisable bond that adds structural integrity, with the ability to flex.
    An example of the strength of RSM is the results of a test recently conducted in Miami-Dade County. In Miami, all roofing products must go through rigorous adhesion testing with a minimum of 45 pounds of pressure per square foot during the concrete adhesion and wind uplift test. The URECOATS 100 RSM recently withstood more than 1,000 pounds of pressure per square foot during a concrete adhesion and wind uplift test conducted by Independent Roof Testing and Consulting of South Florida, Inc. (IRT).
