Having problems with a 700r4 I rebuilt two weeks ago . Hopeing you can help with the tech. knowledge you have PLEASE. After I installed it and while on the road test it was starting in second from a dead stop but I still had forced thoutle shift to low and all the other gears I then put a TH 350 governor in it to see if that would make it shift to low and it did so I had all gears I then adjusted the TV system and let it go out the door.Four days later It comes back , will not shift and starts In second I checked the governor again it was stuck and the out side of it was worn a little so I replaced it again .It would then shift 123 but no overdrive I drove it a few miles and now it starts in second and there is no overdrive. any help you can give would be much appreciated.

When you "rebuild" a 700R4 you had better know all about it and replace with upgraded parts any and everything that has any wear at all. It sounds like the over haul was not done properly and that all the metal particles that you get in a used transmission did not get cleaned out or there is something that has been installed improperly that is wearing and fine particles are getting in the governor and the valve body.
