PARTS MIKE ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS

smog control

Mike,
my question isn't necessarily a 4x4 type question. it has to do with smog control. i've got a 1986 2.4L carburated toyota pick up that barely passes smog here in california. both the hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide amounts, at 2500 rpm, have increased by four times in the last couple years. what other reasons than the oxygen sensor could there be for this increase? i'd appreciate your opinion. jerry b.

You will find that if you replace your catalytic converter your emissions will drop back to the old numbers. Check out: http://www.garlic.com/~junmike
