1996 Chevrolet S10 ext cab pickup - low milage
Mike,
i have experianced very bad gas consumption 4.3 4spd ele
transmission 1st tank full 20mpg and that went down hill to 12mpg.
brakes on slippery surface when hitting dry patch hear loud mecahnical
noise. cruise control when pre-set in traffic, tap brake pedal to slow
down when pushing resume button to go back to pre-set speed the gas
pedal goes to the floor speeding up to the prew set speed )i feel is
unsafe) complaints have been given to new car dealer sence i got it.
when they test same the responce is always the same its with in mfg
specifications. they can not explain low mileage etc.
do you have suggestions what may be wrong--or is it just me????

It sounds to me like you have a couple of serious problems. In your
owners manual and warranty papers is an address of General Motors that
handles customer complaints. Write your dealer with a letter addressing
the unresolved SAFETY related problems along with the fuel mileage drop
off concern. Send copies to GM and the National Highway Traffic Safety
Board. Both these are listed in your owners manual. Check out "lemon
laws" in the state you live in all 50 states do have a way of addressing
unresolved auto problems, don't let your dealer take advantage of you.
