Lifting a Jeep

Mike,
Hi there. I think it's great that there is a site like this! Here's the question:
I own a 94' Jeep Wrangler and love going off road w/ it. I would like to do some minor modifications to make it more off road friendly. I know that I need to do a lift of some sort because my tailpipe keeps getting cranked when I go off road. Please advise as to the best ways to get lift without screwing up driveline angles and also the best sized tires to run without becoming one of the mile high crew. This Jeep is my daily driver as well and I travel quite a ways so it needs to be good on the highway also. I know that I have probably asked you to make something that is impossible, A great offroad rig that rides like a car but you are the expert and Im just guessing at this point.

The small ammount of lift you are asking about can be accomplished with an Add a leaf kit that consists of one long extra leaf added to each of your existing spring packs, this will lift approx. 1.5"s, use 31" tires and you will not be tangling the tailpipe anymore. This will change your speedometer about 8% and since I don't know what engine, transmission or gear ratio you now have I can't really give you the information you need. If you can send more information I can give you better info.
