Saturday 30 December 1995

Special stages = 4 km + 75 km
Liaison-sections = 162 km
Total = 241 km

A short 4km stage on military land followed by a second of 75km on ground more like a `Baja' than a Dakar. Small hills of olive and almond trees, climbs, descents and many turns are on the menu. The day's difficulty : the many changes of direction on the small Andalusan tracks.

After a night at sea, disembarkation in Nador.

TODAY
Because of bad weather conditions, the 75 kilometers special has been cancelled. The single 4km special was conducted in deep mud with puddles in some places up to 40 cm deep.

Motorcycles: Fastest over the stage was World Enduro Champion Kari Tianien, 5 sec. ahead of Italian Davide Trolli. Heinz Kinigadner suffered a set back on his KTM, fuel problems and a fall.

In the car section, the leading T3 prototypes were also lucky enough to finish the stage before heavy rain made the tracks even slippier. In the Mitsubishi-Citroen battle, honors were evenly spread. Bruno Saby was the fastest through the test and Pierre Latrigue was second but very spectacular with a side by side finish with the only woman driver in the event, Jutta Kleinschmidt.

All competitors are now en route for Malaga and the overnight boat crossing to Nador in Morocco for the final stage of 1995.
