Saab For 1997 |

Sweden's unconventional, innovative automaker Saab is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the automobile business this year. The first, hand-built Saab prototype back in 1947 was an aerodynamic, front-wheel drive design that established precedents for every Saab that followed.
Saab has two model lines, the 900 and the 9000. Both are characterized by extremely efficient space utilization and innovative powerplants.

The midsize inside, compact outside Saab 900 is available in sedan, coupe, and convertible body styles with a choice of two trim levels and three engines. Larger brakes, antilock, of course, and new wheels are the 1997 highlights outside. Interior enhancements include redesigned seats and new upholstery.
Engine choices include a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter V6, or 2.0-liter, 185-horsepower turbo four, each available with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
9000
Midsized outside and rated as a "large car" by the EPA because of its cavernous interior space, the Saab 9000 line is unchanged for 1997.
