Land Rover For 2000 |

Few off-road manufacturers have a heritage to match Land Rover's. It has made off-road vehicles for over 50 years. The latest version of its popular Discovery model was introduced last year, but has a variety of new equipment for its second year. The upscale Range Rover line brings British-style luxury to the farthest reaches of the world.
Discovery II
Since its introduction a year ago, the newest Discovery has set sales records for Land Rover. Although it looks much the same as the original Discovery, no body panels are the same and over 85 percent of the parts are new. And there are even more new features for 2000. The automatic transmission will now stay in "Sport" mode until it is deselected, even after the ignition is turned off. Minor changes can be found inside as well.
The Discovery II offers many technologically-advanced systems, including "Active Cornering Enhancement" (ACE), which counteracts body lean during cornering, "Hill Descent Control", electronic brake distribution to improve stopping regardless of load, and an optional "Self Leveling Suspension" (SLS). The engine is a new generation of the Land Rover 4.0-liter V8, modified for increased power and reduced noise levels.
Range Rover
The Range Rover helped create the luxury sport-utility field when it was introduced in this country back in 1987. The current generation dates to 1995, and has been continuously updates ever since. It's offered in 4.0 SE and 4.6 HSE trim. Both models freshened interior and exterior styling this year. More importantly, their engines have been revised to meet California "Low Emission Vehicle" (LEV) standards for medium-duty vehicles.
