NEW CAR REVIEW

Infiniti G20t

by Mark Fulmer

First, let me explain the "t."

That's the Touring Package. Like the Q45t and J30t models, the G20t includes:
  • leather-appointed power front sport seats with adjustable lumbar support and lateral bolsters.
  • a split rear seatback fold-down to accommodate bulky cargo, such as skis.
  • stand integrated fog lights
  • power sunroof
  • electronic key
  • rear deck lid spoiler
  • wide, all-season tires on alloy wheels
  • standard viscous-type limited slip differential

They say this sports sedan is a very good value in the entry-level luxury class. And they're right. Because it simply excels in looks, safety, and performance.

The G20's eager 140-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides instant power when needed. The rack- and-pinion steering yields precise response, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes combined with a standard Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) give fast, skid- resistant stops, even on misty Sacramento evenings.

And speaking of safety, the G20 offers standard dual air bags and front seat belt pre- tensioners - which combine to help protect both the driver and front seat passenger in the event of significant frontal collisions. The front and rear sheetmetal incorporates computer - designed crumple zones and inside each door, a protective steel beam helps shield passengers from lateral impact.

The G20's cab-forward design not only creates an exceptionally roomy interior, but a surprisingly spacious trunk with over 14 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

I enjoyed this car's impressive suspension system, straight-line stability, and a smooth, quiet ride.

Nissan says this is because the car "combines a patented independent front multi-link design with an independent parallel-link with stabilizer bar rear design".

Lots of independance for lots of stability.

Nice concept.

Great car.
